Trump Regime Support for Venezuelans?

Hardline Trump regime demands and objectives assure no resolution of differences through talks in Norway or anywhere else — what Russia understands but didn’t say.

Throughout the tenure of Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro, Republicans and undemocratic Dems aimed to topple them, wanting Venezuelan social democracy eliminated, US controlled fascist tyranny replacing it.

That’s what the Trump regime’s war on the country by other means is all about, wanting the threat of a good example Bolivarian democracy represents terminated, along with gaining control over the nation’s vast oil reserves, the world’s largest.

Mike Pompeo’s hypocrisy is glaring on all geopolitical issues. Turning truth on its head, he said “(t)he United States stands with the people of Venezuela as they strive for a return to dignity and democracy” — what he and other Trump regime hardliners oppose.

Pompeo lied saying “Maduro illegally assumed the presidency of Venezuela, despite the lack of free and fair elections.”

He lied claiming he “arbitrarily jails or bans prominent political leaders and uses the distribution of food as a tool for social control.”

He lied saying Maduro “manipulated the electoral process and timeline to his advantage.” He lied claiming “electoral irregularities” occurred last May.

He lied saying they “included everything from intimidation and disenfranchisement of voters to improper tabulation of the results.”

He turned truth on its head, saying the “Venezuelan National Assembly, in accordance with the Venezuelan constitution (sic), determined the presidency was vacant (sic) because Maduro claimed victory in a fraudulent election (sic).”

A further litany of bald-faced Big Lies followed. The Trump regime wants democratic Venezuela forcefully transformed into a US vassal state.

Wherever Washington intervenes worldwide, tyranny replaces sovereign independent governance, human immiseration its defining feature, American-style “democracy” its deadliest export, rejecting the real thing everywhere, especially at home.

Maduro’s willingness to negotiate with opposition elements “for the good of Venezuela” belies their bad faith.

Imposter Guaido commented on ongoing talks by his henchmen with Maduro officials in Oslo, Norway, saying they aim “to explore a possible way out of this dictatorship (sic).”

As directed by his Trump regime handlers, he called for the formation of a “transition government.”

Rejecting Maduro’s democratic election last May, he wants what he won’t get — a new Electoral Council-run “free” presidential election (sic) — results only to be recognized if he wins.

Talks in Norway are going nowhere, hardline opposition demands unbending. Trump regime hardliners reject compromise. They oppose peaceful resolution of differences.

Speaking for most Venezuelans, Maduro said he’ll never sacrifice sovereign Bolivarian rights and interests as affirmed under the nation’s Constitution and international law.

He won’t surrender to Trump regime demands, represented by Guaido and his henchmen. He seeks peaceful resolution of differences with opposition elements, preserving and protecting the rights, interests, and welfare of all Venezuelans — free from foreign interference.

According to hardline State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus, the Trump regime considers Maduro’s legitimacy as Venezuela’s president “illegitimate,” calling for it “to…end,” adding:

“Free elections (sic) cannot be overseen by a tyrant (sic). As we have repeatedly stated, we believe the only thing to negotiate with Nicolas Maduro is the conditions of his departure.”

The above statement reflects the futility of talks in Norway, going nowhere because Trump regime demands are unbending, what its imperial scourge is all about.

No chance whatever exists to resolve differences through compromise, talks dead-before-arrival, continuing them an exercise in futility.

Pompeo’s remark about “stand(ing) with the people of Venezuela” is belied by endless Trump regime war on the country by other means, continuing relentlessly with no letup in prospect.

On Monday, Maduro tweeted: “Last week, sabotage was committed against ten tankers (with gasoline) to prevent them from reaching the Venezuelan coast. In any case, this problem is being dealt with and we are stabilizing the situation.”

Efforts are being made to undermine the transportation of food to the country by sea, Maduro added, part of the Trump regime’s campaign to starve Venezuelans into submission.

On Monday, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said “Moscow welcomes the announcement about the continuation of contacts between the Venezuelan government and opposition being held in Oslo through Norway’s good services,” adding:

“We call on all states involved in the Venezuela situation to support the launch of the political process in the form of talks between the country’s major forces, refraining from issuing ultimatums to Venezuela’s leadership.”

“On our part, we are ready to make everything possible to facilitate dialogue if its participants consider it necessary.”

“At the same time, we would like to reiterate that we strongly reject any ideas that allow for a forceful intervention in the country’s domestic affairs.”

Hardline Trump regime demands and objectives assure no resolution of differences through talks in Norway or anywhere else — what Russia understands but didn’t say.
