Socialized capitalism or private markets gone crazy?

From webmaster: From what I glean in my own research, The New York Times has it exactly wrong. Many leading economists, both Democrat and Republican, think that the cause of the mortgage meltdown was explicitly due to involvement of the government with Fannie and Freddie.
